Playoff Bound: Springfield Secures Wild Card Sunday, August 26th, 2001 Springfield Storm fans had reason to rejoice tonight, as the team is heading to the Heartland Baseball League playoffs. With a record of 84-46, Springfield is guaranteed a spot in the postseason, although it remains to be officially decided whether or not that's as South champions or in a wild card position. "We have fantastic fans and it feels good to give them something to cheer about," said reliever Norm Miller. "Hopefully there's a lot more celebrating to come." |
