Star LF Olson Signs for 4 years Tuesday, May 20th, 1997 Happy times in Canton as the Kernels and star left fielder Tom Olson put the finishing touches on a $1,500,000 contract extension that will keep the 29-year-old in town 4 years longer. The signing is great news for Canton because players of this caliber are hard to come by. For the season Olson has produced 63 hits in 165 at-bats for a .382 average with 11 home runs and gotten on base at a .474 clip. |
