It's Official: Stone Will Retire
Thursday, June 1st, 2000
Alan Stone said he's made enough money in professional baseball, so it's time to move on.
"I did pretty well for myself, my bank account isn't hurting, maybe I'll become a manager or a team owner or something so I can make even more," he said, announcing this season would be his list. "I'm 36 years old, so I've still got some time to make something of the rest of my life."
Stone's career stats include a 133-107 record, 1994.2 innings, 1730 strikeouts, and a 4.73 ERA.
