Stephens Wins South Honor Monday, June 30th, 1997 This week South pitching was a feast fit for a king and James Stephens really made the most of it -- ripping them royally. The talented Dayton hitting machine produced a .600 batting average, 3 home runs, 12 hits in 20 at-bats, 8 RBIs and 7 runs. That kind of hitting earned him the South Player of the Week honors.
