Hitting Streak Still Alive for Brady Monday, May 5th, 2003 The Stars won the game today, but you would have been hard pressed to find anyone talking about it. The focus seemed to be on second baseman Chip Brady extending his hitting streak to 20 games by going 3-for-5 in the game. "Sure we are happy that we won, but seeing Chip extend his streak was also special," said a jubilant Lafayette manager. "He's a special player who is capable of doing some amazing things at the plate." For the record, the Stars defeated the Jefferson City Jackalopes 8-2 at The Den. Chip Brady singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th and flied out in the 10th. This season Brady has hit at a .386 clip with 16 RBIs, 3 home runs and 24 runs scored. He has played in 31 games. |
