Canton Defeats Springfield 6-3, Davis Nabs 300th Save
Wednesday, April 7th, 1999
Baseball is a numbers game, which means that every milestone reached is special for a player. Today relief specialist Jesse Davis of the Canton Kernels joined the coveted 300-save club, proving that he is one of the best in the business. The 32-year-old Davis closed out today's 6-3 win, throwing 1 innings and surrendering no runs and no hits to beat the Springfield Storm at The Shelterhouse.

Over his career Davis has accounted for 300 saves. In 553 games, he has a 30-48 won-lost mark and 447 strikeouts in 575.2 innings with a 3.13 ERA.
