Jackson Puts Spell on Columbia
Saturday, August 25th, 2001
Eric Jackson of Springfield easily handled the Columbia Monarchs, stopping them on 4 hits and chucking a complete-game 6-0 shutout.

"He really did a job on us," said the Columbia manager. "He had good command of his pitches. He changed speeds well and pretty much confused us. We never could zero in on him, but he certainly zeroed in on us."

Jackson said, "Everything was working for me. Throwing my breaking stuff over the plate was big."

He finished the game with 6 strikeouts and 1 walk in a solid outing.

So far this season Jackson has compiled a 13-7 record with a 3.96 ERA.
