RP Mitchell Bunch Hurt Friday, August 15th, 2003 The Poplar Bluff Predators were dealt a severe blow when Mitchell Bunch was hurt throwing a pitch recently in a game against the Jefferson City Jackalopes. After the game, the team trainer reported Bunch might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 23-year-old reliever out for the rest of the season with shoulder inflammation. They indicated it would take Bunch at least 5 months to heal. He has made 21 relief appearances this year with 0 saves. Bunch has achieved a 3-0 record while holding opposing hitters to a .234 batting average and posting a 2.43 ERA. He has tossed 29.2 innings, given up 26 base hits, fanned 27 and issued 8 walks. |
