Wade's Treatment Not Going Well, Suffers Setback
Friday, August 15th, 2003
All is not well with Steven Wade in his recovery from shoulder tendinitis.

The 34-year-old Dawgs closer has already reached some significant steps in his rehabilitation, but his manager said that the team will continue to be cautious with Wade and take his progression one day at a time, especially after the setback yesterday.

"Yesterday he was feeling pretty good but he didn't do a lot on the field," he said. "Today he was supposed to be on the field doing light stuff and then gradually start working right back up. I think he overdid it."

A post-workout examination revealed that Wade had re-injured himself and would now miss at least 2 weeks because of it.

This year Dayton reliever Wade has made 22 relief appearances and has 3 saves. His record is 1-2 with 9 strikeouts in 22.1 innings and a 4.43 ERA.
