He may only be 24 years old, but Lee Welch has already established himself as an elite Heartland Baseball League player.

The Lafayette Stars star posted a .392 batting average this year, which won him the South batting crown.

"I can't even believe it, to be honest," he told Baseball News Network.

His fantastic campaign consisted of 232 hits, 41 doubles, 2 triples and 28 home runs for the year. In 143 games Welch added 130 RBIs and scored 103 runs.
