Jefferson City Celebrates Wild Card Win Tuesday, September 6th, 2005 The Jefferson City Jackalopes don't see themselves as underdogs or long shots to win the Heartland Series. It may have been only a wild card berth the team was celebrating, as opposed to an South crown, but that didn't damper the optimism. "I think we're one of the best teams in this league and when it counts, I know we can be the best," said closer Paul Oglethorpe. "No one is going to remember the team that had the best regular season record. They are going to remember the Heartland Series champions and we believe that's going to be us." The Jackalopes have a 79-60 record and will be looking to win the 4th Heartland Series in team history. |
