Stars Greg O'Finegan Sidelined Thursday, September 1st, 2005 The Lafayette Stars were dealt a severe blow when Greg O'Finegan was hurt running the bases recently in a game against the Canton Kernels. After the game, the team trainer reported O'Finegan might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 27-year-old third baseman out for the rest of the season with a torn hamstring. They indicated it would take O'Finegan at least 5-6 weeks to heal. This year O'Finegan is batting .326 with 15 home runs and 54 RBIs. |
