Silver Sox Out of Time, Out of Playoffs Saturday, August 20th, 2005 The South Bend Silver Sox were in the middle this season - not close enough in the playoff chase to be considered relevant, but not far enough away to be completely written off - until now. The team is now mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. The Silver Sox have missed the playoffs 26 times in their 27 years as a Heartland Baseball League franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 21st in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 1984. |
