Hendrix on Fire: 5-for-5 for Rochester Wednesday, July 27th, 2005 It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Chet Hendrix. It was a very special day, one that many players never experience. But he did. Hendrix went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Cedar Rapids pitching. When the dust settled on the diamond at The Pit, he had a career 5-for-5 day and something he will long remember. And the Rochester Reapers had a 10-5 victory over the Rebels. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview. Chet Hendrix singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th. For the year Hendrix is batting .311 with 4 home runs. |
