Baker Hits in 20 Straight Games Thursday, June 25th, 1998 Billy Baker's consecutive-game hitting streak has now climbed to 20 games. The Springfield HS left fielder smacked 1 hit against South Bend HS in today's game at Vandals Ballpark to extend it, but he has mixed emotions about it. After losing to the South Bend HS Slammers, Baker told reporters, "I feel good about the streak, but don't feel good when we lose." Billy Baker flied out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, doubled in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th and walked in the 9th. To date, Baker has collected 79 hits for a .385 average. He has posted 19 home runs, scored 63 runs and driven in 69 runs. |
