Week's Premier Player: Poplar Bluffs HS's Watson Monday, June 24th, 1996 It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Red, but last week Howard Watson of the Poplar Bluffs HS Purple Knights reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Watson rocked opposing pitching for a .667 average (10-15), 1 home run and 4 RBIs to come away with the award. For the year Watson is batting .372 with 7 home runs. |
