Spuds Come up Short of Playoffs Monday, July 20th, 1998 The Springfield HS Spuds put forward a respectable playoff push this year, but ultimately their bid to reach the postseason has now officially fallen short. Before this season, the Spuds last missed the playoffs in 1997. In the 20 years they have been a Heartland High School Baseball League franchise, they have missed the playoffs 15 times. In the last 10 years, they have missed the playoffs 8 times. Springfield HS last won the HLHS Championship in 1987. |
