Buckeyes Pitching Ravaged by Stafford Sunday, May 25th, 1997 There are moments in a player's career that are etched into their memories forever. Logan Stafford of the Indiana Hoosiers had one of those moments when he went 5 for 5 at the plate today in the 14-9 win over the Ohio State Buckeyes at Royals Ballpark. The 21-year-old first baseman told reporters in the postgame interview, "This is a day I won't forget soon, but I'll settle to just get a hit or two every day... enough hits to hang around the league a little bit longer... like 10... 15 more years maybe." Logan Stafford singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Chris Long in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th. This year Stafford has 10 home runs and a .268 batting average. |
